Cactus Needles

E: Mama, you have prickers on your toe!

H: What?

E: You have cactus prickers on your toe. I will help you pull them out.

H: Um, that is hair. It won't come out.

Mixing it up

With a little encouragement from Dave and my sister, we have made some room changes. The playroom is now in the living room. The former playroom is now an official den with my sewing/craft table and bookcases. We sold the furniture in the living room and family room. With the proceeds we bought new bookcases - we are waiting for the TV stand.

Herding Turtles

On Sunday, we had pictures taken with Eamon and Aine's cousins. It was an event. I now know why people say taking pictures of five children is like...

It's in the garage

My parents do not use their garage to park cars.

We went to visit Ashlyn and Rachel, Eamon & Aine's cousins, at my parent's house. Their car was not in the driveway. Eamon observed, "They probably parked in the garage."

Trail Magic

Whenever we are out, we look for trail magic. Trail magic is those little bits of wonder you find along your way - a butterfly, a lizard crawling on the wall, remnants of a hive, an eggshell, etc.

Today as we were leaving Aine's well child appointment, Eamon said, "Mama, look a little bit of trail magic." I looked down to see a rubberband in his hand.

Hugs and Kisses

H: Aine, Call I have a hug?

A: No

H: A kiss?

A: No

All said with a little furrow of the brow. At least the child knows her mind.

Up all Night

D: Hey Bubby, how did you sleep last night?

E: I am tired. My baby was up all night nursing.
