GrandDad gave Eamon and Aine a box of wood, nails and a hammer. They took them right outside and started to make a frame. They couldn't forget their safety goggles.

We received almost 13 pounds of apricots from an organic farm up north. They were very ripe when we received them. Aine ate them with gusto, but we still had some. We decided to make some fruit leather. The kids enjoyed the process and the result.

We bought a tent from Costco. Eamon is very excited. He wants to go camping NOW. He tells us that he already has a sleeping bag (Thomas the Tank Engine). Dave granted his wish to setup the tent. The kids thought it was the coolest thing ever.

Eamon & Aine love to hide. When Dave comes home from work, they run to hide from him. Often it is in the closet, sometimes under the covers, and other times it is on the floor with faces covered. They have discovered that under the train table is a really sneaky spot to avoid detection!
We make cookies often here. Usually once a week, the kids and I make a batch. We share them with friends, took some to a new neighbor and an old neighbor. We love cookies. Today, Eamon decided he want to make sugar cookies. We made the dough, and while Aine was sleeping he selected the cookie cutters to use. Our cookies were all sea/water creatures. He and Aine had a lot of fun frosting their creations. In the end, they were quite tastey.

Eamon recently had to mail a few of his trains back to the manufacturer. The company issued a voluntary recall due to lead paint. We packaged up James and his tender along with a cargo box. He took it to the post office and told the person at the counter what he was doing. He is eagerly awaiting his replacement trains.

This summer, the kids have been taking swimming lessons. Eamon is in his own class, while Aine & I are in a class. Both LOVE the water. The think they are fish! Each wants Dave or me to watch their newest swimming accomplishment.

Eamon and Aine have new swimming suits - rash guards to protect their skin from the sun. They asked me to fill up the pool, so they could swim. Our pool is a rubbermaid tub, but it provides a lot of enjoyment.
I have read many blogs that have pictures of corners of their homes. It may seem odd, but it is really interesting to contemplate and see.
I decided to take a picture of my kitchen corner. It is usually a clean space. I also wanted to show off my new rug. A friend of mine made it for me.

Another Ottobre creation for Aine. I picked up the fabric at the Memorial Day sale from JoAnn's. It was clearance fabric for $1/yd. Woo Hoo! Aine loves the dress. It was easy to put together. It only took a few hours while watching the end of 24: Season 2. It has a few spots where I had woobly stitching. I will probably make it again as it is a fun dress to make and wear. It is view #16 from 3/2007.

We headed out for some peach picking today. We each had a bag, but Aine quickly decided the peach grove was not for her. She had tripped into a prickly weed, and she was frustrated with the different buzzing insects. Eamon took his bag and picked with a vengeance. We ended up with 13 pounds.Aine fell asleep on the ride home, so Eamon helped wash our harvest. We decided to make a peach cobbler. It was delicious!
