Birthday Celebrations

On February 18th, we celebrated Aine's birthday with Grandpa Cates, Grandma Williams and GrandDad Williams. Aine enjoyed herself immensely. She enjoyed opening gifts from those present as well as family far away. Thank you for a great time.

Olpin Art Center

Eamon is taking an art class in downtown Chandler at the Olpin Art Center. On Monday he created three masterpieces utilizing different techniques.

In the first piece, Eamon used a straw dipped in paint. He dropped dots of paint onto the paper and then blew into the straw to move the paint.
For the second piece, Eamon scribbled with a crayon on the paper. he then used watercolors to fill in the spaces. The final piece was a creature crafted from the scrap paper box. For those who cannot tell, this is Pinchy or Diesel 10.

Finger puppet

Eamon belongs to a preschool coop group that meets every Friday. Last week our family hosted and we made felted finger puppets out of wool roving. Eamon made a black snake. It was an easy, fun craft.

Trout Fishing in America

On February 17, the whole family accompanied by Grandpa Cates attended a Trout Fishing in America concert. It was sponsored by the county library system, and it was a lot of fun. They played some of our favorites : My Hair had a Party Last Night, 18 Wheels on a Big Rig and Throw it out the Window.

Movies

The other night, I was leaving for a class. Eamon was disucssing what movie he would watch. I told him that I would like to see Curious George. He told me that I could watch Curious George when I got home, because they would be fast asleep. He remarked that since they would be sleeping, I would have to watch by myself - unless of course it woke them up, because it was loud.

Deciduous Trees

While playing at the park, Eamon remarked, "Mama, look at the huge conifers and chrysallis trees."
