IF I HAD MY CHILD TO RAISE ALL OVER AGAIN
If I had my child to raise all over again,
I’d finger-paint more and point the finger less.
I’d do less correcting and more connecting.
I’d take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.
I would care to know less and know to care more.
I’d take more hikes and fly more kites.
I’d stop playing serious, and seriously play.
I’d run through more fields and gaze at more stars.
I’d do more hugging and less tugging.
I would be firm less often, and affirm much more.
I’d build self-esteem first, and the house later.
I’d teach less about the love of power,
And more about the power of love.

Heather I read that and the first thing that came to my mind was that you're the most amazing mother. You don't have to say "IF" because you DO all those things now!! Eamon and Aine are so very lucky to have you!! You really are an inspiration!!
ReplyDeleteI have said it before an dI will continue to shout it from the rooftops that you are the best wife and mother my son and grandkids could ever be lucky enough to have. I am so happy that David found you and that you two are together. You are truly a wonderful mother and I am amazed at all you do in the time you have.I am honored to call you my daughter-in-law and honored to know you.
