More Knitting

I started these sockes while driving home from Ohio. I wish I wore a size 7 shoe, because I would be done by now. My problem is that I am never sure when to stop the cuff. Now? no, now? now? UGH! Pride Socks
Pattern: Jenny Wren Socks
Yarn: Regia Sock Yarn
(more info on Ravelry)

I really want to finish them by election day, since Arizona has a marriage proposition on the ballot.

  1. These socks! They are fabulous! My knit-obsessed daughter is standing here drooling. She just finished a fab sweater for the baby; maybe she can whip me up some socks if I ask her nicely :)_

Wanted to reply here re: the greens, because I wasn't sure you'd see it on my blog. I haul in the greens from outside, chop them up a bit, and dip 'em in a pot of boiling water for less then a minute. You can blanch them for longer; I don't, because I like them still mostly raw.

Then drain, cool, and bag the greens. I have a Foodsaver vacuum sealer and this thing is great for food storage. We've stored away all sorts of greens, herbs, peppers, tomatoes, berries, etc like this. But if you don't have a vacuum sealer, just use freezer bags and skip the vacuum sealer step. They'll still last several months in the freezer, and you'll be glad to have them in the winter! (or are you in a part of the world that doesn't get cold winter?)

Hope this helps! Your blog is lovely, I've been poking around and enjoying it :)

  2. The socks were an easy knit - just a 4X1 rib with a simple cable thrown in. I saw the sweater - she will have no problem with socks!

Thank you for the info on food storage! I hope to employ it with our winter garden. Gotta love the two growing seasons here.
