Hermione's Everyday Socks on Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock in the Buckingham Fountain color way |
A new year brings a lot of reflection for me. What have I accomplished? What contributes to my happiness? What hinders it? How can I improve? What do I want this next year to be for me and my family? A lot of the navel gazing ends up positive. I like who I am and where we are. I do, however, want a bit more. Mostly I want more time. Often I miss those random chances for more time throughout the day. I forget to grab onto them and make them bigger. Either I don't notice them at all or I make excuses that there just aren't enough of them. But truly all those random chances combine into amazing opportunities. If I remember to use them, I can knit a sock, a sweater, a gift. I can read a book, practice yoga, write. I can do so very many things if I notice my chances.
I think wanting more time is something most of us want Heather and I hope you notice more chances to do things that make you happy.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful socks by the way.
i get what you are saying. i keep thinking i need longer stretches of time, but really sneaking in a few minutes here and there, they add up to something amazing.
ReplyDeleteMore time. I hear you. We have small snippets of time each day. I love this photo :) and really enjoyed your last post about your word for this year. I related to much of it.
ReplyDeleteRight there with you, squeezing the most out of moments!
ReplyDeletei know what you are saying....sleeping? do i really NEED to do that???? I've found I've managed to squeeze in just a bit more knitting by having a purse/car project at hand. Yes, I knit at RR crossings! If it just stays in the car....by the end of the year, I usually have a pair of socks that just wouldn't have been otherwise. (I always consider these my 'free' socks!!!!)
